Holiday Wine Package #1 – “Yes Mom, I Brought the Drinks”

Ignerons De Buxy Bourgogne Rouge
Grape: Pinot Noir
Region: Burgundy, France
Taste: Light and vibrant. Fresh aromatics of red cherries, raspberries, and a hint of earthiness.
This holiday wine pairs well with spice-rubbed turkey breast, roasted vegetables, and cranberry sauce.
Modales Wines
Grape: Riesling
Region: Fennville, Michigan
Taste: Dry and zippy with tons of lemon, lime, and slatey minerality.
This wine is an ideal aperitif to kick off any meal. Light and lower in alcohol, it will get your appetite going. Cheers to that.
Domaines Landron ‘Atmospheres’
Grape: Pinot Noir Blend
Region: Loire Valley, France
Taste: Crisp and linear, aromas of citrus, green apple, and brioche with fine bubbles.
This is a charcuterie wine through and through. It has the right amount of acid and zest to cut through creamy cheeses and fatty meats. Bonus points if you pair with a festive charcuterie board.
Holiday Wine Package #2 – Unwrap and Unwine’d
Because all of us need a little unwrapping and a lot of unwinding during the holiday season.
Terre Nere Etna Rosso
Grape: Nerello Mascalese
Region: Mount Etna, Sicily
Taste: Angular and textured, with aromas of dried strawberry, blood orange, and black tea.
This wine pairs well with tinned fish, pan-seared tuna, or any oily coastal fare. Who says holiday meals can’t be seafood?
Château Thivin Brouilly
Grape: Gamay
Region: Beaujolais, France
Taste: Round and pure fruited, packed with fruit flavors of bing cherry, red raspberry, and strawberry.
This wine is poultry’s best friend. Think butter roasted chicken with crispy skin. *Chef’s kiss*
Canvasback
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Walla Walla, Washington
Taste: Robust, powerful with punchy aromatics of black cherry, currant, sweet tobacco, and a pinch of vanilla.
This wine is a good companion to any variety of holiday stews, but particularly beef stew.
Holiday Wine Package #3 – Santa’s Wish List
Ho, ho, ho! Find these wines on Santa’s “Nice” list.
Domaine Boillot Bourgogne Rouge
Grape: Pinot Noir
Region: Burgundy, France
Taste: Light and elegant with lush red fruit aromas of cherry, cranberry, and red raspberry finished with soft tannins and subtle earthiness.
An iconic poultry pairing ie: seared duck breast with blackberry sauce and roasted vegetables.
Domaine Tempier Rouge
Grape: Mourvèdre,Grenache,Cinsault,Carignan
Region: Provence, France
Taste: Deep and brooding, with dark berries, dried herbs, and subtle meatiness.
Pair with an herb-crusted rack of lamb and a side of cast iron brussel sprouts.
Arkenstone
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Napa, California
Taste: Big, round, and classically Napa with concentrated fruit, balanced tannin, acid, and minerality.
This is a steak wine. Prepare sirloin with tons of garlic, rosemary, and mint for a pairing made in heaven.
